About the role

The Bakery Night Clerk supports the Bakery Department under the direction of the Bakery Manager and/or Assistant Bakery Manager. You will maintain high standards of customer service, professionalism, and cleanliness while performing a variety of bakery duties.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in the bakery sales area
• Maintain product rotation and presentation in bakery cases
• Properly wrap all bakery products as directed by the Bakery Manager
• Prepare bakery foods following established procedures
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in bakery cases, prep areas, floors, coolers, and workstations
• Bag bread and rolls, package pies, cakes, and other bakery products (must be at least 18 years old to operate bakery equipment)
• Take customer orders in person and over the phone with proper etiquette
• Maintain freezer organization and stock incoming products as directed
• Be present at your workstation at the start of your shift
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures
• Adhere to the Customer Service Pledge and maintain a neat, professional appearance
• Follow all policies outlined in the Employee Handbook
• Perform all essential functions as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to lift, bend, and twist up to 50 pounds
• Ability to hear, speak, and understand spoken English proficiently
• Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret English
• Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and tasting/smelling
• Regular use of hands and digits to manipulate objects
• Close, distant, and color vision with the ability to adjust focus
• Ability to calculate figures, amounts, discounts, and percentages
• Reliable attendance is essential
