About the role

As a Bakery Department Lead, you will drive sales in your area and supervise a team of hourly associates to deliver high-quality products to members at competitive prices. You will model expertise in bakery operations, collaborate with other team leaders, and ensure the club meets member expectations.

Responsibilities

• Be a Team Leader:
  • Supervise the Bakery department team to execute the business plan and company programs.
  • Communicate department goals and advocate for members, associates, and the company.
  • Collaborate with other team leaders to ensure the club meets member expectations.
• Be an Expert:
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of bakery operations, product specifications, and seasonality.
  • Ensure the department meets company and regulatory standards for quality, safety, sanitation, and compliance.
  • Train team members on new products, recipes, and production specifications.
• Be a Techie:
  • Leverage digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement.
  • Use handheld technology for real-time business decisions related to production, training, and product quality.
  • Adopt new tools and encourage their use among the team.
• Be an Owner:
  • Drive business results through operational excellence, ensuring a neat, clean, and safe work environment.
  • Plan and staff for weekly bakery volumes to maintain consistency in quality, food safety, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, audit, and compliance standards.
  • Produce and display merchandise according to the layout plan.

Requirements

• 6 months of experience in a bakery production department or 6 months of experience supervising a team.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period if hired.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in bakery production, including decorating.
• Supervisory experience.
• Food Handler Certification (Food Safety).

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $22.00 to $30.00. The actual hourly rate will meet or exceed the minimum wage for the job location. Additional premiums may apply in specific circumstances, ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour, based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
