Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by greeting customers and addressing them by name.
• Assists customers with their shopping needs, such as escorting them to products, loading/unloading items, and making note of and passing along customer suggestions or requests.
• Reviews the status and appearance of food products for freshness and prepares/replenishes products as necessary.
• Ensures the work area is clean and adheres to proper sanitation procedures.
• Runs the department registers, handles payments, and provides change.
• Maintains an adequate food supply and prepares products according to a production list.
• Washes dishes as necessary, orders supplies, prices products, delivers orders, and assists in other areas of the store as needed.

Requirements

• Must have the ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions; deal with a few concrete variables.
• Ability to do simple addition and subtraction; copying figures, counting, and recording.
• Possess the ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies orally or in writing.
• Less than high school or equivalent experience and six months of less of similar or related work experience.
• Must be able to perform medium work, including carrying up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
• Must have visual acuity to perform tasks such as reading labels, operating machinery, and performing other job-related duties.
• Must be able to perform physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Qualifications

• Must adhere to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
• Must report to work when scheduled and on time.

Pay

Salary range for this position is $12.00 - $14.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
