Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by greeting customers, learning their names, and addressing them by name.
• Aids customers by escorting them to products, securing items, loading/unloading heavy items, and passing along customer suggestions or requests.
• Reviews orders for freshness and prepares/replenishes products as necessary.
• Ensures the work area is clean and adheres to sanitation procedures.
• Runs department registers, handles payments, and maintains strict adherence to department guidelines.
• Maintains an adequate food supply and prepares products according to a production list.
• Washes dishes, orders supplies, prices products, delivers orders, and assists in other areas as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to do simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, count, and record.
• Must possess the ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions, write identifying information, and request supplies.
• Less than high school education or equivalent experience, with six months or less of similar or related work experience.
• Must be able to perform medium work, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
• Must have visual acuity to perform tasks such as reading labels, operating machinery, and performing other job-related duties.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform the following physical activities: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
• Must be able to perform tasks in a bakery environment, including handling flour dust, noise, cleaning chemicals/solvents, electrical shock, and temperature extremes.

Skills

Essential skills include teamwork, customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $12.00 - $14.00 per hour.
