Bakery Clerk - #51 San Diego

About the role

The Bakery Clerk at El Super performs a variety of tasks within the bakery department, providing customer service and assisting with various operational tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service to customers in the bakery department.
• Aid customers with bakery purchases.
• Clean shelving and display cases.
• Fills and rotates self-serve displays in the store and adjacent to the bakery.
• Work with customers to take special orders.
• Collaborate with the baker to determine baking or decorating needs.
• Participate in department cleaning by hosing down floors with soap and water.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Qualifications

• Basic PC/Outlook skills.
• Retail Management Certificate (preferred).
