BAKERY/CAKE DECORATOR

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return.
• Aid the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals and monitor all established quality assurance standards.
• Represent the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
• Handle stressful situations effectively.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with customers.
• Create an inviting atmosphere for customers by answering questions and suggesting products.
• Prepare and decorate bakery items based on customer requests.
• Ensure product quality and freshness, and follow proper storage and handling procedures.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering and shipping to the department manager.
• Understand the store’s layout and be able to locate products quickly.
• Maintain awareness of inventory conditions and report any discrepancies.
• Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations.
• Follow all store policies and procedures related to merchandising, customer service, labor control, expense management, loss prevention, maintenance, food safety, and associate/customer engagement.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting any needed repairs.
• Report any safety risks, illegal activities, or accidents to management.

Qualifications

• Any retail experience.
• Any bakery/cake decorating experience.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Second language skills (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
