BAKERY/CAKE DECORATOR

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return.
• Aid the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals and monitor all established quality assurance standards.
• Represent the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
• Handle stressful situations effectively.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with customers.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and making recommendations.
• Prepare and decorate bakery items according to customer requests.
• Monitor product quality and freshness, and report any discrepancies to the department manager.
• Follow all local, state, and federal health and safety codes.
• Adhere to merchandising, customer service, labor control, expense, supply, loss prevention, maintenance, food safety, and safety rules.
• Report any safety risks, illegal activities, or accidents to management.
• Perform tasks with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

• Any retail experience.
• Bakery/cake decorating experience preferred.
• Basic math skills.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal health and safety codes.
• Ability to work under stress and communicate effectively.
• Desired: second language proficiency (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
