Bakery Assistant Department Manager

Wage: $20.00 an hour with a $3,000.00 hiring bonus. This is a full-time position requiring flexible day, evening, and weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Devise game plans and plan-o-grams for merchandising the department in conjunction with the Buying team.
• Understand retail label systems and communicate with Scan, General Management, and Buying teams to ensure correct pricing.
• Assign duties to team members, schedule break periods, work hours, and vacations based on business needs and upcoming store events.
• Train team members in store policies, department procedures, product knowledge, and job duties to ensure productivity and safety.
• Supervise and perform departmental inventories to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
• Assume the responsibilities of the Department Manager when necessary.
• Communicate with Buying and General Management teams regarding merchandising, new product implementation, and pricing.
• Follow through promptly with directions from management.
• Coordinate vendor invoices, SKH invoices, and inter-company transfers daily to ensure timely billing.
• Function as a working manager, performing all tasks necessary to assure smooth department operation.
• Maintain knowledge of current inventories and ordering systems to assist with ordering supplies and merchandise from approved vendors.
• Maintain and operate departmental equipment.

Requirements

• Previous managerial and/or bakery experience necessary.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, proportions, percentages, and volume.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Exposure to hot temperatures while working around kitchen equipment.
