BAKER(PART TIME)

Job Summary

We are hiring immediately for a BAKER position. The position is located at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, 200-298 N Sugar Rd., Edinburg, TX 78541. Online applications are accepted only. The schedule is part time and varies, more details will be provided during the interview.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries according to recipes and production specifications.
• Aids in production planning to meet daily requirements.
• Ensures proper food preparation by using approved recipes, following prescribed standards, and using appropriate equipment.
• Completes production records, including waste tracking, portion control, and product shortages; informs supervisor when supplies are low.
• Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils within the work area.
• Handles foods items appropriately and with safety regulations in mind during preparation and service.
• Cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments. Keeps display equipment clean and free of debris.
• Interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly and customer-service oriented manner. Reports relevant concerns to supervisors.
• Consistently exhibits the ability to manage peak production and service calmly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Checks to ensure that all food is presented, served, and displayed according to standards.
• Fulfills sanitation and safety guidelines in handling food and equipment, ensuring compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
• Performs shift work as assigned, in a timely and thorough manner in accordance with department standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Baking from scratch experience is required.

Pay Range

$12.00 per hour to $15.00 per hour.
