BAKER (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

About the role

Fresh Ideas is seeking immediate hires for full-time and part-time BAKER positions at Westminster College located at 501 Westminster Avenue, Fulton, MO 65251. Online applications are accepted only. Schedules are available for both full-time and part-time positions, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, day shift. Prior baking experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and other pastries according to recipes and production specifications.
• Aid in production planning to meet daily requirements.
• Ensure proper food preparation by using approved recipes, adhering to production standards, and using appropriate equipment.
• Complete production records including waste tracking, portion control, and reporting shortages; inform supervisor when supplies are low.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment, supplies, and utensils within the work area.
• Handle foods safely and according to safety regulations during preparation and service.
• Clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments.
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris.
• Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly and customer-service oriented manner.
• Relay relevant concerns from customers to supervisors.
• Work calmly, accurately, and efficiently during peak production and service times.
• Ensure all food is presented, served, and displayed according to standards.
• Follow sanitation and safety guidelines in handling food and equipment.
• Perform shift work as assigned in accordance with department standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Prior baking experience is preferred. No specific educational qualifications are required, but a high school diploma or equivalent is typically expected.

Skills

Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. Proficiency with kitchen equipment and a passion for baking are also important.

Pay

$18.00 per hour to $20.00 per hour.
