Position Summary
As a Baker at 1228 Main, you will be responsible for producing a wide variety of breads and buns in large quantities for daily deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and bake breads and buns according to standardized recipes and daily production needs
- Operate mixers, ovens, proofers, and other bakery equipment
- Shape and portion doughs with consistency and accuracy
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the production area
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
Qualifications
- General bakery experience required; basic knowledge of artisan bread mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking
- Basic knowledge of shaping, proofing, and baking artisan breads (including baguettes and sourdough), with a strong understanding of levain and poolish starters required
- Punctual, team-oriented, and proactive, can-do attitude in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Dependable, punctual, and a team player
- Able to work 9pm-5am approx 5 days a week
- Able to follow production schedules and recipe specifications
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
