Baker

About the role

A Baker prepares food and completes related tasks according to quality and safety standards to ensure satisfaction and achieve departmental food service goals. Provides oversight for the set-up and maintenance of the Bakery. Performs baking and related activities, following established baking procedures and best practices to create and serve high-quality baked goods, according to quality and safety standards to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve departmental food service goals. This position works closely with students, student managers, and limited-term employees. Department: Student Affairs: Retail Service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of baked goods including yeast products (40%)
• Assists student employees and provides training as needed (25%)
• Assists with recipe and menu development and testing (10%)
• Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local safety regulations, policies, and procedures (15%)
• Cleans, inspects and maintains bakery equipment and work areas to ensure adherence to safe food quality, handling, and sanitation processes and procedures (10%)

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Six months of food service experience in a professional setting

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year of food service experience in a professional setting
• ServSafe Certification, Food Handler or Manager certification
• Experience leading and/or training staff
• Experience in a customer service environment

Pay

$19.00 to $21.00 per hour
