Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Calculate, measure and mix ingredients according to company recipes to form dough or batter, using electric mixer or beats and stirs ingredients by hand.
- Shape and cut dough for doughnuts.
- Responsible for the safe use of bakery equipment.
- P practice food safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Follow daily production sheets and keeps record of doughnuts made.
- Operate the fryer, including monitoring the temperature, draining, filtering and cleaning the equipment.
- Prepare icings and decorates doughnuts.
- Sort doughnuts according to production sheets.
- Oversee general quality of the products.
- Stock, store, carry and distribute bakery ingredients according to sanitation rules. Notifies supervisor and/or manager when inventory is low.
- Document doughnut discrepancies and notifies supervisor and/or manager in a timely manner of variance.
- Assess mechanical problems and notifies supervisor and/or manager.
- Clean bakery utensils, equipment, and work area.
- Ensure that bakery utensils are in acceptable working order. Notifies supervisor and/or manager immediately if utensils are damaged.
Qualifications
- Prior bakery knowledge is a plus
- Basic computer skills
- Demonstrated ability to use sound reasoning and judgment
Work Environment
- The work environment is typical of a commercial bakery environment and employees are constantly working around kitchen appliances such as deep fryers, mixers, etc.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, and to slip hazards, hot surfaces and hot oil hazards.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat (non-weather).
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand.
- The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and taste or smell.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear.
