About the role
- Adhere to all HCCTR and Food and Beverage Policies.
- Follow batch recipes for all desserts as instructed by the Executive Pastry Chef.
- Maintain a clean bakery at all times.
- Properly store and rotate all baked goods and ingredients.
- Ensure bakery items are always stocked and ready for guests.
- Work closely with other departments to deliver the best dining experience.
- Log all waste into the waste book.
- Bake bread, rolls, cakes, pastries, and any tasks assigned by the Pastry Chef.
- Prepare items according to restaurant order guides.
- Maintain valid WV racing license, Food Handlers permit, and TIPS certifications.
Requirements
- 6 months experience in a large-volume bakery.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to calculate proportions and volumes, including multiplying and dividing recipe quantities.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions.
- Must qualify for licensing with the West Virginia Racing Commission.
- West Virginia food handlers card.
- Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
- Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and risk of electrical shock.
- Moderate noise level in the work environment.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

Initial placement within the salary range is based on relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
