Eaglebrook is a junior boarding and day school for boys in grades six, seven, eight, and nine, located in Deerfield, Massachusetts. Founded in 1922, Eaglebrook’s vision is to help each student develop his unique gifts during the important middle school years. Our mission is to meet boys where they are in their development and to encourage them to build self-confidence through success. Eaglebrook offers a rich and diverse curriculum geared toward the learning styles of middle school boys.

About the Role

Looking for an experienced baker to join our small team making scratch breads and desserts for a large appreciative crowd. The job is a good mix of comfortable routine and interesting challenge with the opportunity to bring one’s own ideas. Though we will train someone who is a good fit, the ideal candidate will be experienced in all areas of baking and pastry production with a culinary degree or like experience. We'd like someone who is looking to settle in long term in our brand-new dining hall building with state-of-the-art equipment while observing regulated sanitation protocols and standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean and orderly workstation in the kitchen to the standards set by the department.
• Aware and capable of addressing special dietary needs properly.
• Receives and stocks inventory, rotates products, and alerts of products to order.
• Follows standardized recipes to prepare and expedite food for meal service.
• Washes dishes, cleans and sanitizes food surfaces, empties trash, and cleans the floor after every service.
• Responsible for proper processing or disposing of returned food.
• Clean and sanitize food prep stations and surfaces.
• Maintain a sense of urgency and understanding of when tasks must be complete.
• When necessary, aid in all other areas of the dining services.

Requirements

• Three years experience in a high-volume food service establishment.
• Knife skills and knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment.
• Works well with others and has the ability to follow direction with competence and understanding.
• Displays an attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
• Provides a current ServSafe certificate.
• Ability to lift thirty pounds.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass background checks.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
