Baker and Packager Associate
About the role
Prepare fresh baked items daily for our members through following recipes and wrapping, labeling, and storing merchandise to ensure freshness.
Help members with their bakery orders in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Prepares bakery department merchandise based on daily production needs by operating baking equipment, following recipes/make-up instructions, wrapping, labeling, and storing merchandise according to company policies and procedures.
- Maintains a clean, neat, and member-ready area by ensuring compliance with food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, and inventory management.
- Ensures quality and date control standards for bakery items, securing fragile and high-shrink merchandise, and eliminating waste.
- Aids members with purchasing decisions and ensures merchandise is properly packaged, labeled, and stored in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Collaborates with other associates to build a strong bakery team, communicating with team members and being flexible to the needs of the business.
- Leverages digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; utilizes hand-held technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, merchandise ordering, training, and product quality with the member in mind; adapts to new tools and encourages others to use them.
- Ensures commitment to operational excellence by maintaining work area according to company policies and procedures, and assisting members with purchasing decisions.
- Executes the basics at the highest possible level of quality, exhibiting energy, commitment, and passion for the work.
- Models high-quality service and products, being an advocate for the department and the club.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to interact with members and colleagues.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time while assisting members quickly and accurately.
- Problem-solving skills to tackle obstacles and ensure each task is completed with excellence.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a similar role is a plus.
Skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation guidelines.
- Ability to operate and maintain baking equipment.
- Proficiency in digital tools and technology.

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $18.00 to $25.00*.
The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.
Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
