Baker and Packager Associate

About the role

The Bakery/Packager Associate prepares fresh baked items daily for Sam's Club members, following recipes and packaging merchandise to ensure freshness and member satisfaction. Tasks include sweeping up spills, assisting members, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bakery department merchandise based on daily production needs, operating baking equipment and adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, and inventory management.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting, thanking, and addressing member inquiries.
• Maintain a clean, member-ready area by adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with other associates to build a strong bakery team and communicate effectively with team members.
• Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and engage associates.
• Execute the basics at the highest level of quality, valuing the member's experience and exhibiting energy, commitment, and passion for the work.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
• Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; and adapting to change.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Positive attitude, ability to multitask, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time while assisting members.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation guidelines.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with digital tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a fast-paced retail environment is preferred.
