Responsibilities
- Serve as the competitive intelligence lead for multiple assets within Amgen's Rare Disease Business Unit
- Partner closely with US and Global Marketing and cross-functional stakeholders to monitor the competitive landscape
- Synthesize primary and secondary intelligence into actionable strategic insights
- Communicate implications for the business
- Lead intelligence gathering and analysis
- Manage external vendors and internal intelligence networks
- Support major medical congresses through intelligence collection and debriefs
- Facilitate competitive simulations and strategic workshops
- Present recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with Amgen's legal and ethical competitive intelligence standards
Requirements
- Doctorate degree and 2 years of analytics, consulting and/or competitive intelligence experience
- Master’s degree and 4 years of analytics, consulting and/or competitive intelligence experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of analytics, consulting and/or competitive intelligence experience
- Associate’s degree and 10 years of analytics, consulting and/or competitive intelligence experience
- High school diploma / GED and 12 years of analytics, consulting and/or competitive intelligence experience
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (PhD/PharmD/MBA) with a focus on life sciences and business
- Experience with in Life science consulting work in rare disease
- Familiarity with biopharma industry
- Relevant experience in rare disease via prior project work, disease area knowledge
- Prior experience in strategy/management consulting in the biopharma industry, roles of increasing responsibility
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and analyze data to support critical business decisions
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills—able to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences
- Evident project management skills—able to manage multiple, simultaneous projects and data sources
- Demonstrated analytical skills—understands the advantages and limits of different analytical approaches and studies
- Strong understanding of the latest developments and trends in the rare disease space, key competitive dynamics and unmet medical needs
