Bagroom Supervisor

About the role

Supervise lead agents and allocate bag room lead agents as needed. Oversee the safe movement of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft, and transport it between aircraft, outbound bag room, airport terminals, air cargo facilities, and other aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the safe moving of cargo and baggage, including frequent bending, stretching, pushing/pulling, stacking, and kneeling in small, confined locations
• Read, interpret, and complete aircraft weight and balance load sheets, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, baggage and cargo routing tags
• Ensure safe receipt and dispatch of assigned flights, including load integrity and safety compliance
• Complete shift reports and sign timecards
• Enforce adherence to company safety regulations among baggage personnel
• Prepare disciplinary incident and/or termination reports for policy violations
• Assist in the preparation of performance evaluation forms
• Support operations in the baggage handling area, occasionally operating ground support equipment
• Train employees during on-the-job training or airline-specific training, or assign them to work with experienced agents
• Attend mandatory training imposed by the company and airlines
• Perform other assigned duties

• Report hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to managers/supervisors
• Carry out work in accordance with provided training and workplace health and safety rules
• Understand and follow the company health and safety policy
• Attend required training courses arranged by the company
