Baggage System Technician

Qualifications

The qualifications to apply for the role of Baggage System Technician are:

• A high school diploma or GED.
• A current, valid Pennsylvania Class C driver's license or the ability to obtain one.
• To provide personal protective footwear (safety shoes).

• Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Frequently reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently talk or hear.
• Sometimes lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Regularly stand, walk, climb or balance at multiple heights, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in close quarters.
• Occasionally sit, stand, taste, and/or smell.
• Regularly work near moving mechanical parts, aircraft, heavy equipment and vehicles.
• Frequent exposure to lights, noise, fuels and chemicals associated with aircraft and heavy equipment.
• Frequent exposure to all types of outside weather conditions.
• Frequent exposure to noise levels in the work environment that are usually very loud.

Conditions

• May be assigned or scheduled to work all shifts at a 24/7 operation, seven days a week including holidays.
• Subject to remain on duty beyond assigned working hours to provide assistance during extenuating circumstances.

Medical Examination

Employment is contingent upon the results of a post-offer (initial employment or promotion) physical examination performed by the Authority's examining physician.

Drug Testing

Employment is contingent upon the results of a post-offer (initial employment or promotion) drug screening. Continued employment may be subject to drug and alcohol testing conducted without advance notice and without individualized suspicion.

Pre-Employment Investigation

Must pass a thorough investigation, consisting of a criminal history check (including but not limited to the requirements of CFR 1542.209 and 1542.3), verification of prior employment and performance, reference and credentials checks.
