Bag Room Operator - Nights

About the role

The Bag Room Operator 1 reports directly to the Flaking Supervisor and is responsible for ensuring the continuous and effective operation of the Flaking department to meet production goals while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts
  • Transport supersacks into warehouse storage after processing
  • Operate equipment such as supersack machines and filling machines
  • Perform washouts and changeovers of facilities and equipment
  • Follow all procedures, including proper documentation, of manufactured products
  • Maintain housekeeping requirements and 5S standards
  • Perform autonomous maintenance on equipment
  • Perform basic computer tasks
  • Transfer inventory through electronic scanning and required paperwork
  • Lead or support continuous improvement activities
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures
  • Act and be safe at all times
  • Understand and adhere to all task, departmental, site, and company safety rules or standards
  • Aid in maintaining a safe work environment
  • Comply with all customer, regulatory, and quality requirements in the performance of all tasks as set forth in the company’s policies and procedures
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and organized
  • Adhere to all Environmental, Health, Safety, Security Requirements covered under Local State and Federal Regulations
  • Maintain Hazardous waste in accordance to all Local, State and Federal Regulations
  • Other duties as requested

Requirements

  • Education, Credentials, Licenses: High School Diploma, GED, or within a designated period of time following date of hire; 1 year of stand-up Forklift experience required; 1 year of continuous work history required
  • Physical Requirements: Able to work in ambient temperatures (high and low); Able to work a 12-hour shift with rotating schedule; Able to change elevation using ramps, stairs, and ladders; Able to stand and walk for extended periods (e.g., greater than one hour); Able to independently lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis during shift; Able to work overtime as needed
