About the role
The Norfolk Airport Authority (NAA) is seeking a Badging Officer to join our team. Located at Norfolk International Airport, we are committed to connecting our community with the world through safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Process and issue Security Identification Area (SIDA) badges, employee credentials, and restricted parking permits.
- Collect and transmit biographical and biometric information as a TSA trusted agent.
- Resolve ID badging and permit complaints while adhering to Airport and FAA security regulations and budgetary mandates.
- Maintain integrity of personal identification information (PII) for applicants in accordance with local and federal policies.
- Liaise with Authority, airline, and tenant partners.
- Administer and maintain automated and physical security record systems.
- Monitor Rap Back notifications and report incidents and inconsistencies.
- Conduct audits and prepare special studies and projects based on TSA reviews.
- Assist with procurement and distribution of department supplies.
- Perform administrative tasks related to the badging office.
- Program and maintain security access control computer systems and software.
- Administer and adhere to all Authority policies and guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- At least one (1) year of working in a badging or credentialing office, preferably in aviation.
- Work-related experience in badging and credentialing in a secure environment.
- Trusted Agent through American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), or the ability to obtain within ninety (90) days of employment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to hold a SIDA badge.
- Pass a successful criminal background check and other pre-employment requirements.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Thorough knowledge of TSA and FAA regulations pertaining to Security.
- Ability to apply critical thinking and logic with resource management to solve problems in stressful situations.
- Basic understanding of business and management principles.
- Strong work ethic, character, and integrity.
- Ability to utilize computers and other technology items as tools in daily course of business.
- Ability to communicate information and instructions verbally and/or via radio equipment.
Benefits
Flexible shift schedule: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Pay
Per hour: $27.8402 - $39.22
Annual: $57,907.6300 - $81,597.92
