Our top-tier benefits and great retirement packages can help you build a rewarding career and lasting future with the State of Illinois. ## Essential Function Serves as Background Check Associate Performs data entry of CANTS, Sex Offender Registry System (SORS), National Sex Offender Registry System (NSORS), Out-of-State CANTS, Interstate Criminal History, Illinois State Police, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and/or driver eligibility status for facility drivers into the appropriate Departmental system Prepares, keyboards, and maintains complex, highly specialized Background Check Unit (BCU) reports and other reports related to application and recommendation materials processed through Central Office Serves as liaison to requesting parties regarding information on Authorization for Background Check Serves as Central Office of Licensing contact for all issues concerning facility driver checks Receives, sorts, reviews, and distributes incoming mail Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
