Backflow Inspector

Duties

• Ensure all inspections are completed on time and accurately.
• Test all building backflow control panels, devices, and functions of the system.
• Enter test results into the Palm handheld device.
• Download information and generate a completed Backflow Inspection Report.
• Participate in monthly team meetings.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred, but a high school diploma or equivalent with acceptable experience is acceptable.
• Maintain a valid AWWA-NV Water Use Efficiency Practitioner certification upon hire.
• 1-3 years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a Backflow Inspector.
• Study and learn NFPA standards for the inspection and testing of fire protection systems.
• Stay current with code requirements, and industry changes, and obtain NICET certifications.
• Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and be customer service oriented.
• Show proficiency in using test equipment including sensitivity test equipment, multi-meters, battery analyzers, sound level meters, and communicating devices.
• Show proficiency in using Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Palm unit operating systems.
• Show reliable transportation to and from the office or job site.
