Backend Software Engineer, Trading Systems & Data Platform

About the role

We’re building the core systems that power Arta’s wealth platform — including trading infrastructure, ledgering, billing, and real-time data pipelines. This role focuses on high-reliability financial systems, where correctness, consistency, and latency are critical.

Responsibilities

• Design and build core financial systems (trading, ledger, billing)
• Develop systems for transaction processing, reconciliation, and portfolio state management
• Build and scale real-time and batch data pipelines
• Architect APIs and backend services for internal and external use
• Ensure system reliability, observability, and fault tolerance
• Contribute to distributed systems design (event-driven systems, microservices, streaming)
• Partner with ML teams to integrate models into production systems (as needed, not core focus)

Requirements

Strong backend or systems engineer with experience in distributed systems

• Experience in at least one: Financial systems (trading, ledger, payments)
• Data infrastructure
• Scalable backend platforms
• Strong understanding of system design, consistency, and reliability
• Solid programming skills (Python or similar)
• Experience with modern infra (Kafka, Kubernetes, cloud, etc.)

Qualifications

• Strong plus experience with financial primitives (ledger, order management, reconciliation)
• Experience in low-latency or high-throughput systems
• Exposure to data platforms or streaming systems
• Some familiarity with ML systems (nice-to-have, not required)

Skills

Pay

$110,000 - $300,000 depending on experience and qualifications
