Backend Software Engineer

About the role

Based at our headquarters in the Maltese islands, our selected talent will join our agile tech team to build innovative technologies that are revolutionising the hospitality and vacation rental management space.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, working on different software projects.
• A well-rounded knowledge of current technologies and engineering practices, and keeping up to date with the latest developments.
• Knowledge of server-side/backend technologies, particularly Java 11, Spring, Spring Boot and/or Micronaut, Hibernate etc.
• Familiarity with API design and development, and familiarity with API frameworks such as OpenAPI.
• An active practitioner of test-driven development using JUnit, Mockito (or similar).
• Familiarity with CI/CD and automation tools such as Jenkins.
• Experience with DevOps tools and practices such as – Kubernetes, Docker and other cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of Linux systems.
• Delivery mindset; setting high standards for yourself in your work while being pragmatic and balancing various constraints.
• Can-do attitude; thinking independently, taking initiative, and taking ownership and pride in your work.
• Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong team spirit and embracing core Agile values.
