Backend / Microservices Engineer

About the role

Synechron is a global consulting firm delivering end‑to‑end digital solutions across AI, Cloud, DevOps, Data, and Software Engineering for financial services and technology clients. We are seeking a Senior Java Back End developer to support a banking client, with a strong emphasis on building a microservices layer that connects a blockchain platform to core enterprise systems. Prior banking experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement APIs and microservices that integrate on‑chain and off‑chain systems.
• Build services for transaction orchestration, reconciliation, and event processing.
• Ensure scalability and resilience of the services layer.

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend development experience (Java, Node.js, Python, or Go).
• Experience with event‑driven architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub).
• Proficiency in API design and microservices best practices.
• Cloud‑native development experience, preferably on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Preferred (but not required): experience in Web3 and blockchain application development.

Pay

The base salary varies by geography. For positions filled in Irving, TX or Jersey City, NJ, the base salary range is $110,000 – $118,000 per year, plus the benefits described below.
