About The Role
We are seeking a Principal Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join our team at Invisible. In this role, you will lead the development and deployment of high-impact, AI-powered solutions that fundamentally transform our clients’ critical workflows. Your responsibilities will include not only building and deploying solutions but also shaping the strategy, architecture, and execution of end-to-end systems in collaboration with clients. This role offers a hybrid work environment, combining hands-on engineering, system design, and technical consulting, making it ideal for someone passionate about working directly with models and witnessing the tangible impact of their work.
The Principal FDE will partner closely with delivery teams and executive stakeholders to scope projects, identify transformational opportunities, and translate ambiguous workflows into scalable, repeatable systems. You will lead architecture discussions, balancing performance, scalability, cost, and reliability considerations. From initial discovery to full deployment, you will own projects, coordinate internal teams, and manage client-facing deliverables. Additionally, you will contribute to building shared infrastructure, reusable components, and internal best practices to elevate team capabilities. Mentoring mid-level engineers and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence are also key aspects of this role.
This position involves frequent travel—approximately 25–50%—primarily across North America, with occasional international assignments, to work directly on-site with clients. Candidates should be comfortable in high-stakes, ambiguous environments and possess a strong engineering foundation with excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Excellent system design skills, with the ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
- Experience working with messy data and ambiguous requirements to build usable systems
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of leading client discussions and collaborating with diverse stakeholders
