Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build scalable and maintainable software systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement features
• Work closely with product managers to understand customer needs and translate them into technical solutions
• Contribute to the development of our tech stack and contribute to the overall architecture of our platform
• Participate in code reviews and mentoring junior engineers

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience on strong software teams
• Experience with the highs and lows of building new products from scratch
• A track record of growth in team leadership

Qualifications

• Experience with Kotlin, React, Ktor, Postgres, Exposed, Kotest/JUnit, Github Actions, Containerized ECS service, API Gateway, Betterstack, and Sentry
• Broad technical competence across our tech stack
• Harder to find abilities such as thinking forward from first principles and backwards from customer needs
• Curiosity about both technical and business problems
