Backend Developer Lead

Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) • Duration: Initial 6-month contract • Work authorization: USC, GC, or authorized to work in the US

About the role

Senior/Lead Backend Engineer responsible for leading a team of offshore engineers (DEV and QA) and being available during most onshore EST hours. The role serves as the bridge between the development team and the onshore business team, including hands-on development across all backend technologies.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between the development team and the business team
• Debug issues that arise during onshore hours
• Convert legacy applications into microservices hosted in AWS
• Lead the development team by writing quality code, reviewing pull requests, and establishing coding standards
• Apply strong database skills in MySQL
• Work within AWS architecture

Requirements

• Proficiency in Java, MySQL, Spring, and Spring Boot
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in programming
• At least 1 year of experience serving as a development lead
• Hands-on experience with AWS architecture

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Docker and Azure DevOps
