Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, inspect and maintain a die cutter machine to produce quality product safely and efficiently.
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate commitment to quality and perform job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines; understand responsibilities and accountability for product safety, legality, and quality systems.
  • Interpret job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements.
  • Determine the best manufacturing method to produce product efficiently and effectively.
  • Set up die cutter and tooling; operate die cutter; assist other operators on 2-person make-readies.
  • Maintain accurate counts (load and total counts); run baler and change bales as needed.
  • Set up and make-ready of diecut, score, stripping, and blanking tooling if required.
  • Maintain supplies for the department; pull stock for job; wind and jog stock if needed.
  • Operate powered pallet equipment.
  • Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment.
  • Maintain quality of product by monitoring diecutting, creasing, and stripping of waste; troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product.
  • Complete required quality inspections and paperwork.
  • Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding area.
  • Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements.
  • Work throughout the diecutting department running equipment as needed.
  • Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent desired but not required.
  • Previous die cut experience desired.

  • Safety-sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business.
  • Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed.
  • Ability to effectively work in teams.
  • Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to accurately perform basic math.
