Babysitter for Preschool-Aged Children

About the role

We are seeking an energetic, warm, and reliable babysitter to care for our two boys, ages 4 and 2, on Tuesday and Wednesday in Jersey City, NJ. Our regular childcare plans fell through unexpectedly, so we need someone who can step in to keep the boys happy, busy, and well cared for during this time. Our children are active and curious, enjoying activities such as building with blocks and Legos, reading, imaginative play, and exploring the playground and neighborhood.

Responsibilities

• Care for two young children, ages 4 and 2
• Prepare simple meals and snacks
• Manage the typical daily schedule, including a nap for the 2-year-old
• Keep children engaged with building blocks, Legos, reading, imaginative play, and exploring the playground and neighborhood

Requirements

• Available from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Tuesday and/or Wednesday
• Comfortable caring for two young children simultaneously
• Prior experience with toddlers and preschool-aged children
• Comfortable in a home with cats (no pet care required)

Pay & schedule

• Competitive pay rate, considering the short notice
• Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
• Preference for the same sitter both days, but one-day availability is still encouraged to apply
