B&O Saw Operator (Nights)

About the role

We’re hiring motivated individuals for a B&O Saw Operator position. In this role, you will be a valuable part of our production team, ensuring our production quotas are met in a timely fashion while observing the highest standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of two others, providing direction and meeting production targets.
• Operate B&O Cutback Saw.
• Review work order and set up saw as per specifications.
• Properly load material on infeed table to provide a precision cut that meets the customer’s/Wolverine’s tolerance.
• Ensure that the product cut meets the work order specifications.
• Perform visual inspection of material for defects and cut length checks.
• Pack cut material to the requirements for the work order.
• Communicate clearly with others (e.g., supervisor, forklift driver, maintenance, quality, etc.).
• Ensure workspace is kept clean.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Manufacturing experience working in industrial production is strongly preferred.
• Capable of reading and understanding production documents and safety manuals.
• Capable of reading measurement tools (e.g., tape measure, calipers, scales).
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
• Willingness to always comply with all safety guidelines.
• Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Attend all safety and production training.

Essential Physical Functions

• Ability to work on the production floor with exposure to dust, fumes, odors, loud noise, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to perform physical tasks that are repetitive.
• Ability to do work requiring standing with frequent stooping, bending, reaching overhead, and sufficient manual dexterity to perform all aspects of the job.
• Ability to lift and move parts and equipment up to 100 pounds in a team lift.
• Able to work 12-hour shifts primarily standing.

Schedule

12-hour continental shifts (6 p.m.–6 a.m.).

Pay

Competitive pay with a $1.00 extra per hour perfect attendance bonus and a $1.50 per hour night shift differential.
