Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer

Customer is looking to add an AVD engineer or someone strong with virtualized desktop infrastructure. They currently have Azure Virtual Desktop implemented in an enterprise-wide Azure environment and are seeking to add a team member to manage, optimize, and provide operational services for their AVD environment. This role involves collaboration with the AVD leader to ensure secure, operational, and available virtual desktop infrastructure across multiple business units and worksites. The team also supports VIP customers within the organization regarding specific VDI functionality.

Responsibilities

• Implement, manage, and configure Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) pools
• Maintain and support VDI, including creating images, patching, updates, and deploying Gold Images to users
• Administer Windows Server environments
• Manage and optimize 25+ AVD environments (testing, production, and development)
• Support thin clients (patching and maintenance) for sites using them instead of traditional PCs, laptops, or desktops
• Collaborate with business users during outages and provide support to sensitive stakeholders
• Ensure AVD environments remain secure, operational, and available to meet business needs

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), including implementation, pool management, configuration, and patching
• Experience maintaining and supporting VDI (image creation, patching, updates, and Gold Image deployment)
• Windows Server administration skills
• Experience supporting and patching thin clients (preferred)
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills for working with diverse teams and sensitive business users

Pay

$45.00 - $50.00/hour
