Azure Network Engineer (Remote)

About the role

Client is seeking a skilled Azure Network Engineer to join our cloud operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, securing, and maintaining robust Azure networking environments, ensuring high availability, network segmentation, and enterprise security standards. Location: Telecommute. Job type: Contract.

Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and optimize Azure networking solutions, including VNets, Subnets, NSGs, and Route Tables.
• Implement network segmentation and enforce Zero Trust security principles across cloud infrastructure.
• Configure and manage Azure Firewall, VPN Gateways, and ExpressRoute solutions for hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Monitor network performance, diagnose complex network anomalies, and troubleshoot security incidents.
• Support ITIL processes including Incident, Change, Problem, and Release Management in a regulated environment.
• Drive continuous improvement and task automation with an automation-first mindset.

Qualifications

5 to 10 years of experience in cloud networking, infrastructure, or security operations. Demonstrated hands-on expertise with Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, VPN, and NSG configuration. Strong background in core networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing) and ITIL processes. Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700).
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104).
• Experience in regulated or security-focused enterprise environments.
