About the role
Prominent is seeking an Azure Cloud Cybersecurity Engineer to implement and manage cybersecurity controls and compliance requirements for our client's business needs.
Responsibilities
- Enable and manage Azure Cloud cybersecurity controls and compliance requirements based on business priorities and risks.
- Manage security policies and initiatives in Azure, focusing on Identity Access Management, Multi-Factor Authentication, Single Sign-On (SSO), and Federation.
- Lead the setup and configuration of Azure security platforms, including Privileged Access Management, Continuous Diagnostic and Mitigation, and Incident Response.
- Conduct network and application vulnerability testing relevant to Azure systems.
- Collaborate with external clients, business leadership, and auditors to ensure compliance with FISMA and FedRAMP standards.
- Work closely with various Azure security tools and platforms such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, and Microsoft Sentinel.
Requirements
- Microsoft Azure Cloud experience, with a preference for Gov-Cloud experience.
- At least 5 years of cyber-related experience in a commercial environment, specifically in Azure, with a technical information security and risk management role.
- A bachelor’s degree in a technology field, with a master’s degree preferred.
- Experience managing security policies and initiatives in Azure, including Identity Access and Management concepts, multifactor authentication, and SSO/Federation.
- Knowledge of Privileged Access Management concepts and ability to set up and configure the Azure security platforms.
- Ability to perform network and application vulnerability testing relevant to Azure systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of Information Security and Risk Management capabilities related to cloud computing, particularly in Windows and Linux environments.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, software scanning, and security concepts.
- Ability to work within a commute to one of the following locations: Alpharetta, Georgia, Omaha, Nebraska, Greenwood Village, Colorado, or Berkeley Heights, New Jersey.
Qualifications
- Must have the ability to work on Prominent’s payroll during the contract period.
- Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Certifications: CISSP, CCSP, Azure/AWS/Google Security specific training and certification.
- Desired experience includes Government environments and Gov-Cloud experience, Crowdstrike Falcon EDR for Azure, and managing/maintaining FISMA and FedRAMP compliance for a government information system.
Skills
- Strong understanding of Azure security tools and platforms.
- Experience with Extended Detection and Response (XDR), Data Protection, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Monitoring Compliance.
- Excellent collaboration skills with external clients, business leadership, and auditors.

Anticipated hourly rate while on contract is within the $71-79/hr range.
