About the role
Contract position for an Azure Cloud Engineer based in Jamaica, New York.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and optimize Azure workloads and supporting platform services
- Support architecture and engineering decisions across Entra, AKS, Azure Virtual Machines, and related Azure capabilities
- Help implement secure configuration, identity controls, resilience, and operational standards for Azure environments
- Support monitoring, backup, failover, and recovery readiness
- Improve automation, provisioning speed, and infrastructure consistency through tooling and repeatable engineering patterns
- Partner on usage optimization and cost-aware design decisions
- Work with infrastructure, security, and development teams to support enterprise platforms and practice development activities running on Azure
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing and supporting Azure environments in production
- Strong hands‑on knowledge of Azure services including Entra, AKS, Azure Virtual Machines, and related infrastructure capabilities
- Experience with automation, infrastructure as code, and secure cloud operations
- Comfort troubleshooting, optimizing, and improving Azure environments, with a focus on scalable, secure, and reliable outcomes
- Ability to work across engineering, security, and operational teams
- Bachelor's degree preferred; Azure certifications are a plus
