About the role
We are seeking a Certified Caregiver to join our team at Highgate Senior Living. This opportunity allows you to positively impact the quality of life for over 700 seniors and their families.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on and/or stand-by assistance for residents' activities of daily living
- Offer emotional, psychological, and soulful support to residents
- Work with residents to maintain their independence and sense of purpose
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure comprehensive care plans
- Adapt to the changing needs of residents with physical and/or cognitive support
Requirements
- A current Certified Caregiver license
- An organized and detail-oriented approach
- A positive and self-motivated attitude
- Strong communication and critical thinking abilities
- Experience working with different types of people with different ability levels
- Caregiving skills working with vulnerable populations
- Team player with the ability to develop strong working relationships
- The ability to take feedback and incorporate it into your efforts
- An understanding of what it takes to provide care to residents that need physical and/or cognitive support
- Comfortable to adapt quickly to the changing needs of an older adult
- An understanding or the willingness to gain an understanding of the various forms of dementia and how residents with dementia can continue live with purpose
Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- A current Certified Caregiver license
- Ability to obtain CPR & First Aid Certification
- Current negative TB test
- Possess the ability to sit, stand, bend, and move continuously during work hours
- Ability to carry or transfer up to 50lbs with assistance
- Ability to pass criminal record/background check
- Good time management skills
- Must be able to work well independently with little oversight
- Must have a track record of top-notch organizational abilities and communication skills
- Willing to attend and incorporate into your work efforts different types of training

Benefits

Our compensation package is flexible based on the credentialing, tenure, and skill sets each candidate brings for consideration. The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $23.50/hour. Prior experience working with seniors is a plus. Being vaccinated against COVID-19 is preferred.
