AWS Severless Software Engineer III
About the role
The AWS Serverless Software Engineer will design, develop, test, deploy, and support cloud-native applications that support mission-critical exam delivery platforms. They will develop and enhance event-driven solutions that are secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective. They will collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Infrastructure, Security, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support cloud-native applications that support mission-critical exam delivery platforms.
- Develop and enhance event-driven solutions that are secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective.
- Contribute to technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and solution planning activities under the guidance of senior engineers and architects.
- Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, and distributed application components.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), deployment automation, and operational processes to improve system reliability and efficiency.
- Maintain technical documentation and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
- Continuously expand AWS cloud, serverless, and software engineering skills through hands-on development, learning, and collaboration with senior engineers.
Requirements
Hands-on experience with AWS serverless technologies, including AWS Lambda, API Gateway, AppSync, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Step Functions, DynamoDB, and S3. Experience developing and supporting event-driven and cloud-native applications. Strong programming skills in Python, including experience with boto3 and AWS SDKs. Experience developing RESTful APIs, integrations, and distributed applications. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Understanding of AWS security best practices, including IAM, Secrets Manager, encryption, authentication, and authorization. Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, X-Ray, and CloudTrail. Experience troubleshooting and supporting applications in cloud environments. Familiarity with AWS data services including DynamoDB, Aurora/RDS, DocumentDB, S3, Glue, and Athena. Understanding of scalability, resiliency, reliability, and operational excellence principles. - AWS Certified Developer - Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
- Experience developing enterprise web applications using Java, Spring Boot, JPA, Jakarta EE, or related frameworks.
- Experience developing modern web user interfaces using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, ChatGPT, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with leveraging AI to improve software development lifecycle (SDLC) efficiency, code quality, testing, and developer productivity.
- Experience 4+ years of software development experience, preferably developing cloud-based or distributed applications.
- Experience working with AWS cloud services and modern software development practices.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Compensation
We are offering for this position is at $93,850 - $143,700/year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
