About the role
Extensive experience in developing/building AWS Data Lake formation, contributing extensively to design, development and writing code. Experience in modernizing legacy applications, which should include refactoring/migrating in-house legacy applications to the cloud environment. Proficient in utilizing AWS services and related components towards building enterprise level Data Lakes.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose effective modernization strategies
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support throughout project delivery
- Act as a trusted advisor to the technical team on industry trends and emerging technologies
- Develop, test, debug and deliver within timeline using best tools and best practices available
- Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues and challenges
- Design and implement complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions tailored to customer needs
- Identify architectural risks and plan to mitigate risks
- Ensure adherence to standards and best practices
- Influence and communicate effectively with non-technical audiences including senior IT and business stakeholders

- Data Processing & Transformation: AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, EMR, Athena, Amazon Managed Service for Apache Flink, AWS Step Functions, AWS SageMaker (10+ years)
- Data Ingestion & Storage: S3, Amazon Kinesis Data Streams, Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose, DMS (10+ years)
- Modernization: Refactoring, migration, and cloud-native development (7+ years)
- Databases: Modern database technologies and strategies for migrating and modernizing database systems (7+ years)
- ETL & Data Pipelines: Creating AWS ETL jobs and data pipelines with high volumes of data (7+ years)
- DevOps: DevOps practices and automation tools (7+ years)
- Software Development: Hands-on skills in Java – strong Java, J2EE, Java Spring framework & Hibernate technology (7+ years)
- Agile/Scrum: Experience with Agile/Scrum Framework environments (7+ years)
- Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and stakeholders (7+ years)
Skills
- Proficient in using various AWS services (e.g., VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, RDS, API Gateway, Glue Crawlers, Athena)
- Experience in Data Ingestion & Storage, Data Processing & Transformation, and AWS Machine Learning using appropriate AWS services
- Customizing AWS ETL logic using Python code
- Security and data governance covering areas such as fine-grained permissions, managing user and service permissions, data encryption, auditing, and compliance
- Software development with hands-on skills in Python scripting; prior experience in Object-Oriented languages is a plus
- Experience with transactional or RDMS databases
- DevOps, DevSecOps, IaC, automation, building CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging
- Experience with ETL tools; data analytics using PowerBI or AWS QuickSight is a plus
