About the role
Amazon FSx for Lustre engineering team is growing fast and needs your help to push the boundaries of the fastest cloud storage on AWS. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a dynamic and rapidly growing business with over a million active customers in 190 countries. AWS's code serves millions of requests per second with sub-second latency and in a fault tolerant manner. Launched at Re:Invent in November 2018, Amazon FSx for Lustre makes it easy for customers to launch and run high-performance file systems in the cloud. In just minutes you can provision a Lustre parallel file system that can process massive data sets at up to hundreds of gigabytes per second of throughput, millions of IOPS, and sub-millisecond latencies. Customers solve compute-intensive problems in industries including genomics, media & entertainment, machine learning, autonomous vehicles, financial analysis and more.
What you'll do
- Design, build and operate petabyte-scale distributed file systems
- Partner with your team to solve challenging distributed systems, systems programming, and networking problems using the latest hardware technologies AWS has to offer
- Be a key contributor to the future direction and growth of the service
- Design, develop, and operate highly-scalable software services
- Solve complex problems with a diverse team of engineers
- Mentor and grow junior engineers
- Contribute to a fun, inclusive team culture
- Build infrastructure-as-code to deploy software quickly and efficiently across the globe and automate the monitoring and health of our software at never-before-seen scale
Basic qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred qualifications
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Pay
Base salary range: $168,100.00 - $227,400.00 USD annually (USA, MA, Boston). Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
