AWS DevOps Engineer

Location: Houston, Texas (On-Site)
Duration: 6+ months contract

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to help design, build, and operate scalable AWS infrastructure supporting AI, data science, and application engineering workloads. This role plays a key part in driving automation, compliance integration, and modern DevOps practices across complex cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code across multi-account AWS environments using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Build, improve, and automate CI/CD pipelines with a strong focus on shift-left delivery practices.
• Implement and enforce security and compliance policies at the resource and repository level.
• Support deployment automation across containerized clusters, data platforms, and multi-cloud or on-premises systems while mentoring junior team members.

Requirements

• 5+ years of AWS ecosystem experience as a DevOps or Platform engineer, with deep AWS expertise.
• 5+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• 5+ years supporting Kubernetes and containerized orchestration.
• 5+ years of scripting and programming experience with Python, Bash, or Shell, plus 5+ years of Linux/Unix experience.
• 5+ years of code repository experience with GitHub, GitLab, or ADO.
• 3+ years supporting CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or Jenkins.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and architecture patterns, with excellent troubleshooting and incident-response skills.

Qualifications

AWS architecture certification is preferred.
