About the role

Bigbear.ai is seeking an experienced AWS Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in Oracle and NoSQL databases to join our team in Ashburn, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing database performance, ensuring high availability, and implementing best practices for database security.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize Oracle and NoSQL databases on AWS
• Implement and maintain database backup and recovery procedures
• Perform regular performance tuning and capacity planning
• Ensure compliance with security policies and standards
• Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior staff members

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a DBA, with at least 3 years in AWS environments
• Proven experience with Oracle and NoSQL databases
• Strong understanding of relational and non-relational database technologies
• Experience with AWS services such as RDS, DynamoDB, and Redshift
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• CCIE or equivalent certification in networking
• Experience with cloud-native database management tools
• Knowledge of database security best practices

Skills

• Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL
• Experience with AWS Lambda and API Gateway
• Familiarity with DevOps practices

Pay

Salary range: $120,000 - $150,000 annually
