Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 administration, troubleshooting, and general support for Windows Server 2022 environments, Windows 10/11 client systems, and RHEL 8/9 / Linux distributions within cloud environments.
- Architect, deploy, and maintain robust cloud environments, primarily within AWS utilizing Kion for cloud governance.
- Develop, implement and maintain automation scripts and configurations using SaltStack to streamline infrastructure provisioning, configuration management and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with development teams to support integration and operational stability of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth deployment and reliable software deployments.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security, responding to incidents and performing root cause analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management or related professional engineering discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Additional 5 years of System Engineer experience may be substituted for a degree.
- Minimum of 20 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Cloud Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope and complexity.
- Must hold an IAT II certification (e.g., Security+ or equivalent).
- Proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)8/9 and Windows Server 2022/2025 environments.
- Proven experience as a System Administrator or Cloud Engineer with practical knowledge of cloud environments.
- Demonstrated understanding of the IAVM process and experience working directly with ISSOs / Security to coordinate infrastructure security findings.
Qualifications
- Experience working in enterprise or government environments.
- Familiarity with cloud security compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, ICD 503).
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for infrastructure deployment, management, and troubleshooting.
- Experience building automated patching and infrastructure deployment workflows using SaltStack.
- Familiarity or foundational understanding of ecosystem applications and tools such as Apache NiFi, Jira, Confluence, SafeNet HSMs, Certificate Authority (CA) management, and GitLab (deep engineering mastery is not required).
- Willingness to learn about environment-specific platforms; on-site training will be provided for specific specialized tools and internal methodologies (e.g., Kion, SaltStack, and program workflows).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in an agile, fast-paced team environment.
