AWS Cloud Architect

Employment Type: Full-Time Only | Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite) – Relocation candidates accepted.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect with strong hands-on expertise in designing, implementing, and governing large-scale AWS cloud environments. The ideal candidate should have less than 15 years of overall experience and possess a proven track record in cloud architecture, migration, security, automation, and infrastructure optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, highly available, secure, and resilient AWS cloud architectures.
• Lead cloud migration initiatives, including re-platforming and re-architecting legacy applications.
• Establish cloud governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
• Drive cost optimization and performance improvement initiatives using AWS best practices.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering and DevOps teams.
• Collaborate with business and executive stakeholders to align cloud strategy with organizational goals.

Skills

• AWS Services: EKS, ECS, Lambda, Fargate, EC2, S3, EFS, DynamoDB, Aurora RDS, Redshift, Glue, EMR
• Networking & Integration: Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS
• Security & Governance: IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, CloudTrail, AWS Config, Control Tower, GuardDuty
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible
• Monitoring & Observability: CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana

Experience

• 12+ years of overall IT/Software Engineering experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience architecting enterprise-scale AWS solutions.
• Strong expertise in cloud migration, microservices, containerization, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
