AVTEC Instructor: Diesel (PCN 05-8013)
About the role
The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of AVTEC, is recruiting for a Diesel Instructor located in Seward. This position is in the Alaska Vocational Technical Teacher's Unit (AVTECTA).
Responsibilities
- Planning, developing, and delivering instruction in the Diesel and Applied Technology programs.
- Maintaining and developing program curriculum.
- Designing, building, and maintaining the practical industry-based labs and shop areas.
- Facilitating program advisory board meetings.
- Maintaining student training records.
Requirements
- Four years of journey-level trade experience in the applicable field.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in the applicable field; AND Two years of journey-level trade experience in the applicable field; AND Two years professional experience developing, coordinating, and presenting adult training or vocational education programs.
- An industry recognized professional certification in the applicable field; AND Two years of journey-level trade experience in the applicable field; AND Two years professional experience developing, coordinating, and presenting adult training or vocational education programs.

- Written Communication: Writes in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience.

The required training or experience for each position is unique to the assigned field of instruction.
