About the role

This role is a member of our Construction team, focused on adding creativity to tech-enabled efficiency and robust analytics to address risks others avoid. The Construction SDI Assistant Vice President/Vice President will be responsible for underwriting according to authority level and established guidelines. This is a remote or hybrid opportunity based in one of Vantage’s office locations, with US colleagues able to work anywhere in the United States (excluding US territories and possessions).

Responsibilities

  • Review submissions to ensure alignment with risk appetite and business strategy.
  • Generate new business by collaborating with brokers and prospective SDI clients.
  • Be market-facing by cultivating new broker and customer relationships.
  • Analyze complex risks thoroughly and effectively.
  • Perform underwriting activities associated with managing transactions, service standards, compliance rules, and documentation.
  • Demonstrate a customer service mindset by proactively engaging internal and external contacts.
  • Collaborate and correspond with internal and external partners to meet client expectations.
  • Interact directly with various business partners and internal departments.
  • Meet departmental service standards for each process.
  • Perform other duties and special projects with minimal supervision.
  • Adapt to evolving responsibilities as the company grows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least three to seven years of relevant industry experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of SDI Underwriting, Risk Engineering, Construction Operations, or Construction Risk Management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Expert skills using Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience with AI platforms in a business setting, such as Claude or ChatGPT.
  • Ability to process and adapt to change in a rapidly growing company environment.

Pay

The base salary expectation for this role is between $220,000 and $280,000. The actual base salary and title may vary based on the candidate's experience and expectations.
