About the role
This role is based in our New York, Philadelphia, or Edina locations and is a hybrid position requiring at least three days a week in the office. Guy Carpenter Client Support Services (CSS) consists of global service teams assigned to specific client accounts to handle contracts, claims, and accounting.
Responsibilities
- Advise individuals to assess and submit client and/or reinsurer presentation materials and communications to resolve difficult questions and secure reinsurer agreements and payments of claims and account balances.
- Authorize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other system tools to manage complex transactional processes, ensuring tasks are completed effectively and timely while adhering to Client measurement Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Interface during team and department meetings to share opinions, ideas, knowledge, and solutions, providing input for the evolution of the operational model to promote process improvement ideas leveraging technology.
- Consult on accounting/claims processes for Request For Proposal (RFP) and sales opportunities to drive business growth.
- Develop strategies for reinsurance audits/reviews with clients and reinsurers, review open claims and/or premium activity, and reconcile records to facilitate the review/audit process and ensure quality.
- Counsel peers on difficult or contentious reinsurance developments, providing training, mentoring, and guidance within the team for all aspects of reinsurance service processing to assist with troubleshooting and resource development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in reinsurance, insurance, accounting, or claims.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of reinsurance concepts, principles, relevant laws, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FATCA), as well as contract law, contract provisions, and basic regulatory controls.
- Proven success in client account management, relationship building, engagement, and development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for complex interactions, including presentations and negotiations, with clients, markets, and global colleagues at all levels.
