AVP, Property Facultative Underwriter
About the role
SompoRe has unique opportunities for AVP, Property Facultative Underwriters in our North America Property Facultative team in both the Eastern and Midwest Regions. Our disciplined approach to risk management and claims handling, coupled with strong analytical skills, enables us to provide broad multiline capability to successfully underwrite risks across our clients’ insurance portfolios.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and direct clients in your assigned region to drive organic premium growth and establish SompoRe as a trusted partner.
- Underwrite within all Property Facultative guidelines and support other underwriters in our collaborative two-headed approach to underwriting.
- Achieve stated financial objectives for growth and profitability within the property facultative portfolio.
- Represent SompoRe’s capabilities through active engagement in on-site visits, industry conferences, and other networking opportunities.
- Perform risk analysis (exposure, aggregation, profitability) using internal models and market data.
- Participate in special projects that support corporate needs and objectives.
What You’ll Bring
- 5 to 7 years of Property Facultative experience
- Broker Market and Direct
- Demonstrated proficiency in individual risk and automatic underwriting.
- Industry designations such as ARe and/or CPCU are preferred.
- Proven ability to perform detailed risk analysis and effectively engage in complex negotiations.
- Exceptional oral and written communication abilities, coupled with strong organizational skills and the capacity to meet tight deadlines.
- Professional demeanor with a commitment to delivering outstanding client service and building long-term partnerships.
- Ability to interact and collaborate with stakeholders across various levels of the organization.
- Advanced knowledge of relevant software tools, including AI, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other applications.
- Willingness to travel as required to support client relationships and business objectives.
Salary Range
$165,000 – $220,000
