AVP, Property Account Engineer
About the role
Sompo has a unique opportunity for an AVP, Property Account Engineer in our Risk Control Division. Combining decades of experience and deep industry knowledge with collaborative and practical risk management programs, Sompo’s Risk Control experts monitor emerging trends and risks and work with clients to minimize their loss potential and stay ahead of the unexpected.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate new and renewal accounts for surveys and services for complex, Large Property accounts across multiple industries and (large or complex) Middle Market properties
- Conduct technical reviews of engineering reports and desktop account reviews for the underwriting team
- Prioritize account service assignments and coordinate client engagements to achieve department goals
- Perform on-site client work to validate and analyze exposures and recommendations, which may include conducting risk control surveys
- Manage recommendation distribution and compliance to effectively influence clients for risk mitigation changes
- Analyze loss exposures trends and new technologies to provide risk control products and/or services to reduce losses
- Lead client and broker meetings, networking events, and additional social outings
Requirements
Candidate must have proficiency in property risk control skills. Undergraduate degree in engineering, science, or another related field. Possessing relevant professional designations or certifications such as, P-Eng., or CFPS, or other technical certification/designation is highly desirable. Minimum 10 years of insurance risk control experience preferred. Expertise in evaluating adequacy of fire protection systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

Pay
$130,000 – $175,000. Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
